What is Discipleship?
A mandate given by Jesus to go into the world and make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:19).
The elements of discipleship are seen clearly in Acts 2:42, 46 - Believers continuously devoting themselves to teaching and fellowship, sharing in the Lord’s Supper, and in prayer. They worshipped together at the Temple and met in homes.
What is a Disciple?
A person who’s character is being shaped into the character of God.
A student in relationship with a mature follower of Jesus Christ. The mature follower is one who embodies God’s character and attributes, while continuously following His commands.
A learner of the Word of God and one who dedicates his life to worshipping the only Living God, Jesus Christ.
One who teaches others and passes it on from generation to generation
(II Timothy 2:2)
